I'm giving it a 5 because I didn't have any issues, the staff was polite and friendly, the food quantity was great the quality wasn't bad either price was good I'd go back
Everything freshly cooked to order yes a little wait but we'll worth waiting for
Everytime I come to Barnsley I come here for chips and fish bites for my kids. Chips are always good quality and the fish is too. Tables were grubby when I last went and the lady who served me was quite abrupt but the gentleman was nice. Good value for money also
Lovely chippie, really nice bloke looked after my wife and mother in law today. Fish cooked to perfection 👌
Called in today for an early lunch. It's the second time we've eaten here. The Fish and Chips were really good again. The portion size was just enough and the Fish was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of batter. The Waiteress was friendly and attentive throughout. I think it was the Frier who brought the food to the table, he was just as friendly. Would certainly recommend!
Been coming here about 5 years now, Lovely the chef who cooks everything for everyone both fish shop side plus restaurant side a very fast and good worker, a very hard worker you will never see him stood still even at quiet times always working doing something. I like the food here and the range of foods offered. Also the prices the cheapest I see in Barnsley so very competitive, you Carnt buy fish chips a side and a drink cheaper anywhere else, there cones of chips only 80p find me cheaper. Years ago only 50p which first got me into the shop as advertised outside. Been here ever since. Other staff however seem to come and go in little space of time. Can not be fun for chef lovely training up new staff repeatedly and so often. Seem to be staff issues here which need resolving. It not good for customers seeing the staff always changing here. But Lovely chef not in charge of the business and a worker here so staff issues are problems of higher management who are rarely here. Maybe if staff history looked at before employing them rather than getting staff in from the streets which I guess is happening, maybe looking at staff work history plus older staff than young girls college age before setting them on maybe help this business. Also effecting this business is their restaurant side, for a restaurant side, theirs a competitor around the corner offering called Princes offering cheaper senior specials around a £1 cheaper so if a party of 4 looking at saving around £5 just by walking a little further. I feel this fact really really effecting this business as competitor restaurant side far busier. If this business increased prices fish shop side bringing them in line to competitors who are far more expensive and reduce prices restaurant side on some things so same price or cheaper than competitors near by, I feel this business would do far better than it is doing, also resolving staff problems. None of which is anything to do with the chef here who is usually in charge of the place. But not in those areas. Overall it a very nice place which why I still come here after so long but improvements can be made here make it even better. To the management in charge, look around see what competitors are doing before increasing prices on things, and staff problems need resolving going through so many staff not good for keeping customers. Look after staff well business will thrive if not business shall fail. Seeing a problem with staff here so this bound to be effecting the business also.
This is the second I've been in the restaurant and I wasn't disappointed. The food is really tasty and presented well. Very very good value for money. I ordered Gary's special. Excellent place to eat. Will definitely going again.
